The introduction of high speed mobile internet with 3G & 4G connectivity and extensive use of smartphones have resulted into the history-high figures of over 140 million mobile phone users in Pakistan. The operators respond to different USSD codes in facilitating their customers to avail their services on the go.

Currently there are four cellular operators offering their prepaid and postpaid services in the country; Jazz, Telenor, Ufone and Zong. Most of the people use a prepaid package as it happens to be more convenient and budget-friendly than the postpaid options.

If you’ve followed TV commercials where the telecom operators highlight certain prepaid packages and offers that can be activated by dialing a certain code dubbed as Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) code. These codes normally start with * followed by certain digits and ending with #.
