Although we have come across some reports in recent days claiming that Apple is considering to cancel iPhone X this summer but this would be really surprising news for you that the Cupertino based tech giant may bring not one, not two but three iPhone X models in 2018. A slightly lower priced 6.1-inch iPhone has already been suggested but the new report hints towards another second-generation regular iPhone X flagship and a larger 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus variant.
According to a report published in MacRumors, Ming-chi Kuo of KGI Securities claims that Apple is all set to bring three iPhone X models later this year – iPhone X, iPhone X Plus and lower-priced iPhone X SE. The report not only highlights the names and expected launch dates of the three expected models but also reveals various upgrades in features. Reminding you that the man is highly regarded for his analysis and forecasts for upcoming Apple products through reliable sources.
Kuo predicts the expected price tags of the upcoming iPhone models – even more expensive than the iPhone X:
The second gen iPhone X will again start at $1,000, the iPhone X Plus will be priced higher (likely $1,200-$1,350) while the once-cheap iPhone SE will see its iPhone X-inspired successor come in at more than an iPhone 8 starting from $700-$800.
iPhone X SE with 6.1 inch Display
The rumored 6.1-inch iPhone X SE is going to be a weird smartphone in a way; shaping up to be a lower-priced iPhone X with some design compromises. For instance, its size is going to be larger than regular iPhone X and smaller than the new iPhone X Plus.
Moreover, the smartphone will be lacking with the 3D Touch having only one main camera instead of the iPhone X’s two. The most compromising feature will be the memory size as the 3GB RAM will be the least one as compared to the other iPhones of the year.
The low-priced iPhone will bring power source of 2,850-2,950 mAh battery; up to 8.5 percent larger than current iPhone X. We will have an LCD screen instead of OLED for the iPhone X SE that is expected to be prices between $700 and $800 in the United States.
Next Generation iPhone X and iPhone X Plus
Kuo claims that the next-generation iPhone X and its elder sibling iPhone X Plus having 6.5-inch display will be made available with gigantic 4GB of RAM. He further adds that the larger physical design of the upcoming duo of iPhones will accompany 3,300 to 3,400 mAh battery; 25 percent larger capacity than the current iPhone X.
Kuo believes that both the siblings may introduce two-cell L-shaped battery units yielding up to 10 percent additional capacity as compared to a single-cell, L-shaped design of today’s iPhone models.
However, Kuo doesn’t expect improvements to be made to the TrueDepth camera system until 2019. Nevertheless, he expects the devices to sell well, especially the lower-priced 6.1-inch iPhone.
What do you feel about the upcoming iPhone models? Would you go for the highest ever price tag for a smartphone?
