Apple has finally launched the much-awaited Apple iPad Pro 2020 as successor to some 500-days old iPad Pro 2018. The new entrant accompanies a few upgradations into internals as well as external feel and look. For instance, triple lens camera setup may attract your attention in first look. The US tech giant has also launched a new MacBook Air as well.
Apple iPad Pro 2020 – Design and Features
The iPad Pro 2020 is identical in design with the previous model but carries an Apple A12Z Bionic chip under the hood that seems to be an upgraded version of the A12 chipset. Moreover, the new iPad follows the footprints of its predecessors by offering two screen sizes – iPad Pro 11 and iPad Pro 12.9.
The 11-inch version comes with a resolution of 2388 x 1668 pixels while the larger one carries a 2732 x 2048 pixels resolution. However, both displays offer density of 264 pixels per inch (PPI) supporting 120Hz refresh rate that make them suitable for seamless gaming experience and smoother scrolling.
The iPad Pro 2020 supports gigabit LTE but does not 5G connectivity. The new device carries a USB-C port but no audio jack – something that was equally missing on the 2018 version. Apple says that the new iPad is fuelled by a powerful battery that can last for up to 10 hours with single full charge.
Apple iPad Pro 2020 – New Additions
Apple has added a spectacular feature called LIDAR Scanner that is said to work alongside the tablet’s triple camera setup for depth sensing and Augmented Reality (AR).
Another cool feature is the new keyboard – the Magic Keyboard that has is backlit and carries an adjustable trackpad to suit the users’ viewing position. The trackpad isn’t just an addition to the MacOS but it presents some new features such that as users move their finger across the trackpad, the pointer elegantly transforms to highlight user interface elements.
Apple iPad Pro 2020 – Pricing and Availability
Apple has announced availability of iPad Pro 2020 through Apple’s online store in silver and grey colors. Customers can opt to any of the storage option from 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. The company plans to offer offline sale commencing from next week. However, same may be further delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
As for pricing, the 11-inch Wi-Fi model with 128GB of storage is priced at $799 while the same storage size with cellular support is priced at $949. Likewise, the 12.9-inch Wi-Fi supported base model of the tablet is retailed at $999 while the cellular version carries price tag of $1,149.
