Smartphones are evolving in terms of design features and we are coming across innovative features every year. The most recent being the notched design introduced by iPhone X, the under-display fingerprint sensor by Vivo and triple camera setup by Huawei.

The foldable display is another concept that is being experimented by many of the big names like Samsung, Huawei and LG with fresh addition of Apple.

Apple to Bring Foldable iPhone

According to recent report published by CNBC, Bank of America Merrill Lynch says Apple is working with Asian partners to make a whole new iPhone design of foldable display that could debut within next two years.

Mohan, an analyst wrote a note after meeting several Apple suppliers in Asia:

We expect the iPhones this fall to be largely unchanged for the OLED versions although size changes have proved to be a catalyst in the past. Our checks also suggest that Apple is working with suppliers on a foldable phone for launch in 2020.

If you remember, we had come across a Korean media report back in October 2017 suggesting that Apple was teaming up with LG to bring foldable smartphones in future. An anonymous industry source claimed that Apple would order foldable OLED panels that could start production in 2020. Once again, the same year is being quoted in the fresh report as well.

Let us see if Samsung wins the race with alleged Galaxy X that has been in rumors and reports for quite long or the LG and Huawei succeed earlier to bring their patents into reality.
