Market is flooded with a variety of flagship devices from different manufacturers. As buyer, you may stand clueless in choosing the right one for you. Every device comes with its own pros and cons. For instance, Apple’s iPhone X is the best smartphone of company ever launched. However, it doesn’t mean that it is the best pick from the market.

If we consider fast charging feature of the latest flagship devices, OnePlus 5T stands miles ahead of Apple’s top-end iPhone X and many other big names of market. This was tested by Tom’s Guide who conducted a brief comparison in the very feature of fast charging among top seven flagship devices available in the market right now.

The competitors of the test were iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, OnePlus 5T, LG V30, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Google Pixel 2. Tom’s Guide used genuine accessories of all these brands to charge smartphones for 30 minutes and 60 minutes of duration. The devices were turned on but the screens were off and all of them having 0 percent battery.

It is important to mention that OnePlus conducted same kind of test proving OnePlus 5T better than other three competitors. We considered it as controversial test due some reasons but now it seems that OnePlus 5T is actually leader in the market as far as fast charging feature is concerned.

  • LG V30 – 86%
  • iPhone X – 81%
  • iPhone 8 – 80%
  • iPhone 8 Plus – 79%
  • Google Pixel 2 – 75%
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 8 – 74%

Our Say

The results are evident that the latest iPhone devices from Apple stay behind two of the Android devices in fast charging tests. So if you consider this very feature as the decisive one, iPhone would not become your choice.

It is worth mentioning here that this tests were performed while keeping charging time in mind. The iPhone family will be definitely performing well in other features like display quality and camera performance etc.

We consider Apple should work more in order to compete with other Android devices in fast charging features. After all, people spend more to get iPhone than the Android devices listed in the competition. So they are right to expect the best features from iPhone.
