Once the international ride-sharing apps of Uber and Careem have established their footprints in Pakistan, the local players have also decided to test their fortune. Just a few days ago we saw Daewoo, a leading intercity transportation service provider, making an entry into the market segment with its own app. Likewise a leading telecom player Jazz started a taxi-hailing app mLift in Rawalpindi Islamabad.

And now, ARY – a famous business group, has also started its own ride hailing service, named ARY Sahulat Say Chalo (ARY SSC). The service is currently available only in Karachi. The company claims that rides are available within minutes of being hailed throughout the day. ARY further claims that its SSC service is the first “Made in Pakistan” car and rickshaw hiring company and is a part of its “Be an entrepreneur” program.

For Customers

Just like any other ride hailing service, ARY Sahulat Say Chalo rides can be booked using a smartphone app. However, ARY gives an additional option that allows customers who visit any ARY Sahulat Bazar to book through kiosks as well. You can even book your ride by calling their 24 hours helpline 021-111-000-162.

Once a ride has been booked, the system ties up the customer with an executive (driver) along with details of the executive on the app screen. The on-screen information is similar to Careem or Uber, displaying the estimated fare, arrival time and map tracking.

ARY has also introduced some new features making its rides safer and convenient:

  • No peak, off-peak or surge pricing.
  • Comparable rates to Careem and Uber for both rickshaws and cars.
  • Ability to pause a ride if the driver is refuelling or changing a flat tire.
  • Emergency Button in the app for immediate protection from any sort of issue getting help via a dedicated 24-hour helpline.
  • All users become ARY E-Sahulat Members after signing up for ARY SSC, allowing for additional discounts.
  • Payments can be made via cash or through ARY Sahulat Cards.

The ARY SSC app for customers can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

For Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs get a chance to make money through the ARY SSC service. Each executive (driver) is allowed to entertain their customers in the best way possible. However, everyone has to pass a special training program first so that client satisfaction can be guaranteed.

Those who are willing to register with ARY Sahulat Say Chalo as an executive, need to visit any ARY SSC centre along with the following information and their “well-maintained car”.

  • Valid CNIC
  • Driving License
  • 4 Passport-sized photographs
  • Character certificate
  • Two personal references

When accepted, the ARY SSC team provides an Executive app to the drivers to start their business with ARY.
