Asus, a Taiwan based firm, launched an iPhone X-like smartphone running on Android OS, known as Asus Zenfone 5. The smartphone not only managed to attract potential customers but its camera setup has been recognized as one of the impressive ones on DXO Mark bench tests.
The Asus Zenfone 5 is a mid-range device that is powered by the Snapdragon 636 processor. Its main camera setup positioned on rear of the phone comprises of a 12MP 1.4µm f/1.8 primary sensor and an 8MP 1.12µm f/2.0 secondary one. The performance of both these cameras is combined and competed on the flagship-level.
Asus Zenfone 5 – DXO Mark Ranking
DXO Mark, a renowned imaging specialist, has given the phone an overall score of 90 points, standing at number 11 of the current chart. The bench testing proved the camera to perform excellently well when capturing still photos in all scenarios and even gets an above average performance in low-light conditions.
Its photo score is 93 points with an average of its scores in areas such as Exposure and Contrast (92), Color (86), Autofocus (98) and more. However, the video performance isn’t very great as the smartphone manages to score 86 points. Autofocus is still its strongest point here but it doesn’t do very well in capturing fine detail and textures.
While going through the full report, we consider Asus Zenfone 5 as a great choice as far as a mid-range device with great camera setup is concerned. As the DXO Mark hasn’t gone through testing of other mid-range devices like the Nokia 7 Plus or Mi 6X, so we can’t say how their cameras compare to that of the Zenfone 5.
