HMD Global, the home of Nokia brand, is in the headlines for its upcoming device dubbed as Nokia X or Nokia X6 due to be officially unveiled on May 16th. However, the device gets a leak with high resolution images on Chinese social media platform Weibo. The previous renders surfaced on another Chinese micro-blogging platform Baidu seem to be true with the latest updates.

Nokia X6 – Leaked Design Features

The fresh images showcase a clean and sleek-looking device, despite the fact that that it’s still a budget-friendly smartphone with entry-level specs.
It becomes the first Nokia device with a notch on its front having small bezel on the bottom with the Nokia logo branded across the right corner.

The leaked images also reveal that the Nokia X6 will be arriving with a 5.8-inch notched screen, offering an aspect ratio of 19:9, Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and a slightly protruding vertically-aligned dual-camera setup.

The rear view of the upcoming Nokia device will be featuring a glass back along with a vertically arranged dual camera setup, a dual-tone LED flash and a fingerprint scanner in the top half of the rear panel.

A 3.5mm audio jack can also be found on the topside of the Nokia X6. The left edge of the phone seems to be barren whereas the volume controller and power key are seated on the right edge. Previous leaks have revealed that it features a microUSB 2.0 port on the bottoms side.

The handset will come preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo and is expected to arrive in two storage options of 32GB and 64GB paired with three RAM variants of 3GB, 4GB and 6GB. It is said to be powered by 1.8 GHz octa-core processor indicating that it may be driven by Snapdragon 636 under the hood.

Pricing and Availability

HMD Global is holding a week-long event at the Mercedes Me Square in Sanlitun, Beijing that will end on May 23, whereas the device will be announced on May 16. Even though the rumors claimed that the handset will be called Nokia X6, marketing materials and images from the venue have revealed Nokia X moniker. It is presumed that HMD Global could resume the Nokia X series of the previous year with Nokia X6 being the first of its lineup.
