Google has officially rolled out Android 9 Pie last week with a number of improvements and advanced features. The company is already making the new OS available to its Pixel lineup in the first phase. However, Google has also confirmed through its official blog post that all the Android One devices and other phones that have joined the Android P Beta program will be treated with Android 9 Pie by the end of the fall.

Nokia Devices to Get Android 9 Pie Update

Since HMD Global had confirmed at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 that the entire range of Nokia smartphones above Nokia 2 will join the Android One program, many Nokia phones are expected to receive Android 9 Pie update earlier than many of its competitors.

Following are the Nokia devices listed under Android One program and likely to receive Android 9 Pie update very soon:

  • Nokia 8 Sirocco
  • Nokia 7 Plus
  • Nokia 6 (2018)
  • Nokia 6.1 Plus (Nokia X6)
  • Nokia 5.1 Plus (Nokia X5)
  • Nokia 5.1
  • Nokia 3.1
  • Nokia 2.1

Among these, the Nokia 7 Plus is expected to get the final Android P update by the end of this month since it is one of the smartphones that have been enrolled in the Android P Beta program.

Rumors are also there on tech blogs that apart from Android One phones by HMD Global, other Nokia phones may also receive an Android P update by the end of this year. If it is true, the older Nokia phones such as Nokia 8, Nokia 7, Nokia 6, Nokia 5, Nokia 3, Nokia 2 and Nokia 1 will also be treated with Android 9 Pie.
