Samsung is all set to bring a smaller version of its recent flagship devices Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The new entrant will be names as Galaxy S8 Lite that appeared on TENNA a few days ago bearing the model number of SM-G8950.
A leaker has come up on Twitter claiming that the Galaxy S8 Lite will be launched on May 21, 2018 at Jingdong’s (JD.com) headquarters. The follow up tweet by the same source reveals the color options of the upcoming device to be Red and Black. Though, the red one looks really gorgeous.
Samsung will launch GALAXY S9 lite( S8 lite) at the headquarters of JD on 21.May. Some report said it will only on https://t.co/Gz8F0kG34C.— 萌萌的电教 (@MMDDJ_) May 9, 2018
As the name implies, the Galaxy S8 Lite will certainly have a bit cut short in specs sheet than the elder siblings. The fingerprint sensor will be in the same awkward position as the Galaxy S8 and S8+ offer but a 16MP single rear camera will be the real “Lite”.
As far as other specs are concerned, the Galaxy S8 Lite will feature a 5.8-inch FHD+ Infinity Display, a Snapdragon 660 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. It will also have an 8MP wide-angle selfie camera, 3000mAh battery and Android Oreo on board.
As for now, we have no confirmation of the price tag but the smartphone is reported to be exclusive to the online retailer.
