General Mobile – the Turkish smartphone manufacturers introduced General Mobile 4G last year under the Google’s Android One initiative. The company has now come up with another Android One – General Mobile GM5, the first Android One smartphone running on Android 7.0 Nougat, the latest version of Android OS. It is worth mentioning that the General Mobile 4G has also been upgraded to Android Nougat.

Design

The smartphone looks gorgeous having 5 inches HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection nicely enclosed by metal edges and textured back design. The General Mobile GM5 measures at140.5 x 69.75 x 9.3mm and weighs 160 grams. The smartphone comes in Golden, Space Gray and Black colour options.

Like its predecessor the GM5 camera sits in the centre along with volume and power buttons housed on the right side. The USB port is located at the bottom with dual speakers embedded on each side. On the top we find only a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Connectivity

General Mobile GM5 is powered by a 64-bit 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset paired with 2 GB of RAM. Whereas we find 16 GB of built-in storage that can be extended by using microSD card.

The GM5 is 4G supported handset having more connectivity options including Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, FM Radio, and Wi-Fi Direct.

Camera

On the camera front, there is a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, auto focus, and 4x digital zoom. On the other hand, the General Mobile GM5 bears a 5-megapixel front camera for selfie shooters. A 2500 mAh battery keeps the lights on.

Price and Availability

General Mobile has not officially announced the price tag of new Android One product as yet. Keep visiting us as we’ll update this aspect of the smartphone as soon as it is disclosed by the company.

The GM5 will go on sale later this month in Pakistan along with Azerbaijan, Albania, Afghanistan, Belgium, Bosnia, Croatia, Cyprus, Georgia, Ghana, Greece, Iraq, Kenya, Luxembourg, Moldova, Netherlands, Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
