Honor – Huawei’s sub-brand, has kicked off the global presence of its latest flagship smartphone named as Honor 10 that offers flagship feature yet maintaining its budget-friendly pricing. The Honor 10 looks similar to Huawei P20 series in terms of design features however differs in internals. The smartphone comes with the same shiny color gradient design that has already earned the interests of the smartphone experts and critics from around the globe.

Honor 10 – Features

The Honor 10 features a shiny reflective back made of 15 layers of 3D glass with along with a nano-scale optical coating. The design has been named as the “Aurora Glass”. The smartphone carries an industry first ultrasonic front-mounted fingerprint sensor located under the glass that allows users to use the sensor even when their fingers are wet.

The device features a 5.84-inch Full HD+ (2280×1080) notched IPS LCD panel on the front carrying a 19:9 aspect ratio and attaining an 86 percent screen-to-body ratio. The top notch contains the earpiece, sensors and the front-facing camera.


The internals of the Honor 10 are also equally impressive making it the ultimate choice in the mid-range category. Huawei has embedded a HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset under the hood powering up the device that hosts four ARM Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.36GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. On the memory front, Honor 10 offers two combos of RAM-ROM as 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB along with a dedicated microSD card slot to further increase the storage capacity.


The dual AI Camera setup is considered to be one of the prime sale points of Honor 10. The main camera setup comprises of a 16MP RGB lens with f/1.8 aperture, PDAF and LED flash and a 24MP monochrome lens with f/1.8 aperture. The camera features a “high quality” electronic image stabilization (EIS) for better pictures and videos. Moreover, the AI Camera can recognize 500+ scenarios in 22 categories in real-time.


The selfie shooter comes with a 24MP lens on the front with f/2.0 aperture sporting 3D face recognition, optimizing facial details that detects over 100 facial points to ensure “pixel-level accuracy”. The front camera also has bokeh mode and supports for studio lighting effects in a range of lighting conditions.

The Honor 10 runs EMUI 8.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The phone comes with the usual connectivity options including Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C port (USB 2.0) and dual nano SIM slots. The phone has a dedicated AK4376A audio processor to enable it to output 7.1 sound with the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Honor 10 is fuelled by a 3400mAh battery unit that features fast charging support via 5V/4.5A Huawei Super Charge capable of charging 50% of the battery in just 25 minutes.

Honor 10 – Pricing and Availability

The Honor 10 is offered in diverse color options to choose from Phantom Blue, Phantom Green, Glacier Grey and Midnight. The base variant of Honor 10 is priced at €400 (~$472, PKR 54,600) while the higher version with 128GB storage comes with €450 (~$531, PKR 61,500) price tag.
