Huawei has added another budget-friendly device to its Honor series dubbed as Huawei Honor 7A. Interestingly, the new smartphone comes in a number of innovative and trending features like full screen design and a dual rear camera.

Honor 7A – Features

The Honor 7A comes in a compact design measuring 152.4 x 73 x 7.8 mm in overall dimensions. The smartphone is fitted with a 5.7-inch IPS LCD front panel having HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. Moreover, the screen is placed under a layer of 2.5D curved glass.

On the other hand, the rear panel of Honor 7A is made up of plastic and metal combo along with a metallic frame surrounding the body and fingerprint sensor. The smartphone can be availed in three distinct colors like Aurora Blue, Midnight Black and Platinum Gold.

The Honor 7A is powered by a Snapdragon 430 chipset paired with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage along with a dedicated microSD card slot to expand the native memory. However, the base model does not feature a fingerprint scanner.

Huawei has offered a dual camera setup for the higher variant of Honor 7A comprising of a 13MP + 2MP lens whereas the base model comes with a single rear camera of 13MP. However, both the variants offer photography modes such as bokeh effect, beauty mode, aperture mode, watermark mode, smile capture and AR stickers.

While going to the front, the Honor 7A features an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash. The front camera is also enabled with support for face detection that can be used to unlock the phone by identifying 1,024 facial features.


The Honor 7A brings impressive audio enhancement with an extra-large speaker and smart power amplifier chip that can produce an audio output of 88 decibels. The other audio features include Histen 3D audio by Huawei and Party Mode that allow multiple users of 7A phones to connect via NFC to play the same music.

The handset is fuelled by a 3,000 mAh battery and runs Android 8.0 Oreo with customized skin of EMUI 8.0 on the top. The other features of Honor 7A include a 3.5mm audio jack, microUSB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, GPS and GLONASS.

Honor 7A – Pricing and Availability

Huawei has officially made the Honor 7A available for the Chinese market with price tags of CNY 799 (~$127, PKR 14,700) for the 2GB variant and CNY 999 (~$159, PKR 18,400) for the 3GB model. Although, there is no word for international exposure of the newly launched Honor 7A but we expect to see the budget-friendly device being introduced in emerging markets like Pakistan and India very soon.
