If you feel Honor Magic 2 wasn’t cool enough for you, the Huawei’s sub-brand is all set to fascinate you with the Honor Magic 2 3D. The new entrant features the same design, however a few improved specs making it better than the original model. Of course, as the name implies, a 3D sensor makes the headlines that is embedded on the front for facial recognition.

Honor Magic 2 3D – Features

As mentioned above, there is no significant change in design features if we compare both the variants of Honor Magic 2; a glass sandwich build with an aluminum frame. Likewise, we have a 6.4-inch OLED Full HD+ display having resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, screen to body ratio of 91.5% and an aspect ratio of 19:9.

The Honor Magic 2 3D is a dual SIM supported handset that runs on Huawei’s proprietary EMUI on top of Android 9.0 Pie. We have an enormous 8GB of RAM onboard paired with 512GB of internal storage. However, there is no option available for further expansion of the storage.

The smartphone is powered by Huawei’s best 7nm Kirin 980 processor supported by a graphene heat pipe for better heat dissipation. This will enable the Honor Magic 2 3D to maintain its maximum performance for longer duration.

The photography department of the Honor Magic 2 3D is dominated by a rear-mounted triple camera setup comprising of a 16MP f/1.8 RGB sensor, a 24MP f/1.8 B&W camera and a 16MP super wide-angle f/2.2 lens.

The front facing camera setup brings the real improvement for what the smartphone carries the 3D nomenclature. Although, there is an under-display fingerprint reader but the 3D camera on the front is meant for 3D face unlock making the device more secure. In total, we have three cameras on the front as well; a 16 MP main sensor, a 2MP depth sensor and a 3D structured light camera.

Honor has powered the flagship phone with a 3,400 mAh battery along with 40W Magic Charge that is capable of charging the device up to 50% in just 15 minutes and up to 85% in 30 minutes’ time.

Price and Availability

Honor has announced availability of Honor Magic 2 3D in the local Chinese market, as of now, carrying a price tag of CNY 5,799 (~$864, PKR 121,500). However, the smartphone is expected to debut its international exposure very soon.
