Honor – sub-brand of Huawei, has put its new phablet ‘Honor Note 10’ in direct combination with famous Note series of Samsung. The new device with its 7-inch display offers everything you expect from Samsung but at a much lower price tag. Its decent high end specs sheet puts its rivals on the back foot.
The Honor Note 9 brings a polished and a bit boxy outer body with trimmed bezels and metallic frame. A gigantic 6.95-inch AMOLED panel mesmerizes everyone with its FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels. Interestingly, Honor has adopted the same display technology similar to Samsung phones that supports HDR10 with 115% NTSC color garmut coverage.
The phablet is powered by a Kirin 970 chipset that is considered an equivalent to the Snapdragon 835. Many of Huawei’s flagship devices used the same chipset thus proving it to be one of the best by Chinese manufacturer. Although, Honor Note 9 offers two RAM options of 6GB and 8GB but there are three memory combos in total comprising of 6GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB. Luckily, the phablet offers a hybrid dual SIM slot to enhance storage capacity of 64GB variant.
The Honor Note 9 is a dual SIM supported device that runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box while Huawei’s proprietary EMUI 8.2 lies on top. The device also supports the company’s recently-launched GPU Turbo technology that smooths out gaming and improves overall framerate without compromising battery life. It has a dedicated hardware button, which can be pushed to trigger the GPU Turbo technology. The same button can also be used as a camera shutter.
The photography department of Honor Note 9 is dominated by a dual camera setup on the rear with AI capabilities, comprising of a 16MP lens with f/1.8 aperture size and another 24MP sensor with same aperture size to capture well detailed images and record decent video clips up to 4K resolution. Another 13MP lens is embedded on the front with larger aperture size of f/2.0 to capture wider selfies with AI beautification and blur features.
Above all, Honor Note 9 is fuelled by a gigantic power source of 5,000 mAh that also supports Huawei’s Super Charge technology, so it won’t be a problem to charge the device every now and then.
