Honor has finally unveiled the most-rumored Honor V20 equipped with might 48MP lens at an official company event in Paris, France. The smartphone brings a smaller camera hole than that of Nova 4 on top left of the display.
Moreover, the Chinese manufacturer claims that it has improved its manufacturing process and managed to place a punch-hole selfie camera without actually penetrating the display panel.
The Honor V20 boasts a premium appeal; thanks to metal and glass combination design. It is the first V-series phone from the company to sport 3D glass with V-shaped texture that appears prominent when light reflects on it.
Honor V20 – Features
The Honor V20 brings a 6.4-inch IPS LCD screen on the front that supports FHD+ resolution of 2310 x 1080 pixels and delivers 91.82 percent of screen-to-body ratio. Additionally, the front camera is placed under the display at the top-left corner, occupying only a small space since it measures only 4.5mm in diameter..
The rear of the smartphone has been crafted in a way that the gradient “V” changes color and position depending on your viewing angle. Moreover, the rear camera setup brings horizontal placement on the top left of the rear glass back; next to the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Chinese smartphone brand has powered the Honor V20 with a powerful 7nmm Kirin 980 chipset embedded under the hood that is considered slightly better than SD845. The smartphone boasts memory configuration that offers 6GB/8GB in RAM department and 128GB/256 GB for the built-in storage. However, there is no microSD card slot on the device.
The prime selling feature of the Honor V20 would certainly be the huge 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor that is coupled with a 3D ToF (Time of Flight) sensor on the rear to detect the subjects’ body shape and size for taking quality full-height photos.
Honor claims that the snapper is equipped with some high-end technology to take crisp shots and supports Quad-Bayer array to take 12 MP HDR shots in low-light conditions along with Huawei’s AI detection, Super Night View Mode and EIS. On the other hand, the selfie shooter is a single 25MP f/2.0 aperture for capturing crisp self-portraits hosting numerous beautification features and scene detection.
For accurate GPU positioning, the Honor V20 comes equipped with dual-band GPS technology. Moreover, the Link Turbo technology that aggregates LTE and Wi-Fi connections offers uninterrupted internet connectivity on Honor V20. The connectivity features available on the V20 are dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and USB-C.
The smartphone is fuelled with a massive 4,000 mAh battery that supports 22.5 SuperCharge technology. More interestingly, Honor V20 supports a desktop mode that enables users to use the phone directly like a PC; when connected to a monitor, keyboard and mouse.
Pricing and Availability
The first sale of Honor V20 is all set to take place in China starting from today (December 28th) in diverse color options to choose from Magic Night Black, Charm Blue Sear and Charm Red. Pricing details are as under:
- 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage – CNY 2,999 (~$435, PKR 61,000)
- 8 GB RM + 128 GB storage – CNY 3,499 (~$505, PKR 71,000)
Moreover, Honor has partnered with MOSCHINO – an Italian luxury brand to release customized Phantom Blue and Phantom Red editions of the Honor V20 MOSCHINO edition equipped with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. This special edition is priced at CNY 3,999 (~$579, PKR 81,000).
