Huawei is the largest smartphone brand in China while it stands at number three globally with Samsung and Apple winning the race. The recent reports claim that the Chinese tech giant has jumped into the App Store arena with the Huawei AppGallery application. The new app allows users to download Android apps that also exist on the Google Play Store.
It seems that Huawei has decided to bring AppGallery in order to attract more customers from Asian markets like Pakistan and India where Samsung has a solid presence with its own Galaxy Apps that generally uses Google Play Store’s functionality. However, Huawei AppGallery will enable its users to download certain system functionality applications as well as apps for your DeX dock and Gear watches.
The Huawei AppGallery works like Google Play Store with a number of sections to group the apps according to one’s humour including Featured, Category, Top, Manager and Me. Renowned regular applications like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube are there that can also be downloaded from Play Store.
Huawei says on its webpage:
Huawei AppGallery will be pre-installed on all new Huawei and Honor phones, starting with Huawei P20 in March 2018, and will be rolled out to older devices during Q2 2018. Exact time for the update availability varies depending of the device model and region.
