Huawei has unveiled the Nova 3 – the smartphone that remained in the rumor mill for quite some time now. While the official release was scheduled on July 18th but the Chinese tech giant has started pre-booking of the device a week earlier.

Although, the Nova series by Huawei is considered to be a mid-range lineup but Nova 3 seems a bit different while packing a lot of flagship features like bringing a notched display, getting power by the same Kirin 970 chipset that was revealed in the P20 Pro and dual camera setup on both sides.

The Huawei Nova 3 brings a bigger bezelless display on the front that measures 6.3-inch in size with an HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 along with a notch on the top. The dual front camera results in a wider notch than the one found on Honor 10. However, fingerprint sensor is located on the back.

As mentioned earlier, the Nova 3 is powered by Huawei’s current-generation flagship smartphone chipset – the Kirin 970 with AI capabilities. The standard memory variant of Nova 3 offers a memory combo of 6GB RAM and 128GB native storage.

On the connectivity options, we have a Dual 4G SIM slot, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac. The smartphone can also use 4G and Wi-Fi simultaneously for faster data downloads and uploads.

The photography department of Huawei Nova 3 is taken up by four cameras in total featuring AI support. We have a dual camera on the front comprising of a 24MP primary lens and another 2MP secondary one for portrait shots and Face Unlock features.

The rear of the handset is also equipped with a dual camera setup with the same composition as the Honor 10 – a 16MP RGB sensor with a f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 24 MP Monochrome snapper with the same lens.

The Huawei Nova 3 comes pre-loaded with company’s own EMUI 8.2 based on Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box. The smartphone also sports Huawei’s GPU Turbo technology for better graphics GPU Turbo feature and also has 3D Qmoji.

Huawei has equipped the Nova 3 with a 3,750 mAh battery unit that seems perfect choice to last through at least a day of average use. Moreover, the typical Super Charge feature will not take much time to refill the power backup.
