The notched screens started with the arrival of iPhone X will sooner become the rare feature as the next generation of smartphones are ready to bring a ‘hole punch camera display’.

The race between Samsung and Huawei to become the first company to release the first all-screen notch-less device seems to be ending with the Chinese brand leading all the way.

Huawei has been teasing the tech world with the Nova 4 posters for a couple of weeks now as a smartphone featuring circular camera cutout instead of the trendy notch.

The most interesting part of the recent teasers is that the Nova 4 is not too far. The Chinese tech giant has confirmed December 17th as the official unveiling day of the maiden hole punch camera smartphone.

Nova 4 Expected Features

Huawei has today come up on different channels like Shenzhen Satellite TV, Hunan Satellite TV, Palm Reader, Weibo TV, Souho News and Youko with Nova 4 posters teasing its unique design features. The in-screen camera design of the upcoming Nova 4 suggests that it will deliver more than 90 percent screen-to-body ratio.

The Nova 4 is expected to have premium mid-range specs, therefore a Kirin 710 or Kirin 980 SoC would be there to power up the device. Some of the leaked images of the upcoming device reveals the presence of headphone jack – the feature that lacks in the current devices.

It is also guessed that the Nova 4 will be equipped with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of native storage. The Android 9 Pie OS is also expected to be available preinstalled on the device.

Therefore, the possible specs of the Nova 4 are:

  • 6.22-inch Full HD AMOLED screen
  • Kirin 710 or 980 processor
  • Up to 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage,
  • Under-display fingerprint sensor
  • 25-megapixel camera
  • Rear dual-lens camera (20-megapixel and 12-megapixel sensors)
  • 4,230 mAh battery
