Apple brought 2017 lineup of its iPhone series that is said to be the most innovative one announced by the company so far. We met iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and the special edition for Apple’s 10th anniversary, iPhone X in the previous year. However, it is heard that the Cupertino based tech giant is planning to make significant changes in its iPhone 2018 models in terms of design, features and more interestingly in price tags as well.

Earlier reports suggested that Apple was geared up to bring at least three iPhone models in 2018 including a 6.5-inch OLED model, a 6.1-inch LCD iPhone and a new mini iPhone — iPhone SE 2. Meanwhile, a new report shared by MacRumors reveals that Apple may be replacing the iPhone 9 with iPhone 11 and iPhone 11S models having super-sized displays but lower in price tags.

iPhone 2018 Models with Affordable Price Tags

Such reports clearly hint towards a big change in Apple’s strategy in bringing larger screens for its upcoming iPhone products. Though iPhone X has already broken the barrier by introducing a 5.8-inches tall screen – the biggest so far. It seems that Apple has left behind its old belief that is ‘a smartphone is a thing that fits in one’s hands’ – and the 6.5-inches figure is the proof for that.

Well, besides bigger screens, Apple has also decided to make upcoming iPhone models affordable for everyone in terms of price tags. The alleged iPhone SE2 would lie in mid-range segment with an expected price tag of around $400 (~PKR 44,200).

The first iPhone crossing 6-inch barrier would be the 6.1-inch LCD model that could cost around $650 (~PKR 71,900). However, the 6.5-inch iPhone model with OLED panel would certainly a bit expensive from the other two but cheaper than the present iPhone X.

An innovative Face ID feature that was brought in with the 10th anniversary iPhone model is likely to make its way into the next batch of iPhones. Likewise, iPhone X’s Animoji feature will also be included in the next generation of iPhone models with more improvement.

However, the rumors of Touch ID embedded in the display still persist but with no certain time frame. What we know so far is that the iOS 12, the next version of Apple’s mobile operating system, will certainly be introduced in all the upcoming iPhone models.

As far as release dates are concerned, the iPhone SE 2 is expected to make its debut in June this year at the upcoming Apple’s own tech event WWDC 2018. However, the other two models are likely to be released in September 2018.
