Apple has already launched their new and updated version of iPhones – iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, though not yet officially launched in Pakistan. We expect their arrival in coming days or weeks, that is why we have decided to share a brief comparison of iPhone 7 vs iPhone 7 Plus for those who are planning to get one of them.
Apple has introduced two new colours – Black and Jet Black, besides their usual ones. Of course the new addition of colours is really awesome. The key features of both the devices are really remarkable; creating confusion in selection for a buyer. If the iPhone 7 is lesser in price then the iPhone 7 Plus has some extra features. So which one to get???
Prior comparing both the devices let us have a look on some standard features. Apple has diminished the usual 3.5 mm headphone jack. The new iPhone packages come with earphones that fit into the phone’s Lightning port; currently used for charging and data transfer. The package also contains a Lightning to 3.5mm converter to play regular earphones.
The traditional “iPhone Home Button” has transformed a vibration-based taptic feedback technique. It now vibrates when touched by user. Earlier Apple has introduced this feature in the 2015 MacBook models.
The both variants are powered by a new Apple A10 Fusion chip which has a 64-bit 4 core CPU. The new chip is 50 percent faster than the A9 chip and 3 times faster than the A8 chip. You’ll get these iPhones in three storage variants; 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB.
iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are water resistant; they can now withstand in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.
iPhone 7 vs iPhone 7 Plus – The Choice Made Easy
As you see in the preceding debate, there is not too much difference between the new twins from Apple. Even then there are several key points one should consider before deciding any one of them. Let us start comparison.
The iPhone 7 Plus has larger display of 5.5 inches in size as compared to 4.7 of the iPhone 7. Not only the size but the iPhone 7 Plus has more sharp and bright colours that feel great to the viewer’s eyes. Moreover, the display of iPhone 7 Plus has more pixel density than the iPhone 7; 401 pixels to 326.
It is quite obvious that you’ll have great fun with the larger display of iPhone 7 Plus; as you can view smaller text on webpage, photos, videos and play games with great comfort.
Apple has incorporated more RAM on the bigger one while lesser for the smaller device; it is 3 GB for iPhone 7 Plus and 2 GB for iPhone 7. One should understand this difference as the bigger one obviously need more power to function up to the standard of Apple.
The users will definitely experience uninterrupted performance from iPhone 7 Plus, lessening the chances of hanging around.
We have included this aspect in comparison keeping in view the users who want to use their iPhones with single hand. Both the devices are similar in thickness so there is no problem here. The iPhone 7, smaller in size, would be the ultimate choice because it will not be possible to reach the top end of iPhone 7 Plus with single hand.
Here comes the major difference between iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone 7 comes with 12 MP rear shooter while the iPhone 7 Plus with 12 MP dual camera at the rear. From these dual lenses, one is a wide-angle lens while the other one is a telephoto lens.
You can say iPhone 7 Plus is a pocket DSLR. You get two times optical zoom with the same photo quality with this dual-lens camera. The picture quality looks like a DSLR quality scale with the depth-of-feel portrait mode.
Apple has powered up the iPhone 7 with 1,960 mAh battery and the iPhone 7 Plus with a 2,910 mAh one. It means that you can get 10 to 20 percent more battery life if you go with the iPhone 7 Plus; an hour or so more time to enjoy with the single charging.
This is the difference where one’s pocket is involved. If we talk about price trend in the US, we see an iPhone 7 with 32 GB variant at a cost of $649 while the iPhone 7 Plus of the same storage size with a price tag of $769.
As we have mentioned earlier that latest iPhones have not yet been launched officially in Pakistan but you can find out the same on online stores. We have shared a price comparison of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in an earlier article.
If your pocket allows and you don’t consider the size and the comfort factor, think of the bigger variant of iPhone. Although you’ll have to spend more money but you’ll get a better camera, more battery life and more GBs of RAM for better performance.
For us, $120 for all these superb features is acceptable for the iPhone 7 Plus. Well, don’t think twice and spend some extra dollars to buy the larger iPhone 7 model.
