Lenovo is going to achieve a milestone to become the first manufacturer introducing Google Tango augmented reality technology feature in their Android smartphone – Lenovo Phab 2 Pro.
The device is a significant milestone in the development of Tango, as it is the first device that will be available for consumers to purchase and use.
The gigantic phablet will reach in your hands in November 2016; as confirmed reports revel.
The gadget incorporates a fairly large quad HD display – 6.4 inches with enormous resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Besides larger display, the phablet comes with very powerful battery backup of 4050 mAh non-removable battery. Its overall dimensions are quite large, that is 179.80 x 88.60 x 10.70 mm and weighs a quarter kg (250 grams).
Lenovo Phab 2 Pro runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is powered by 1.8 GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor. Well supported by 4 GB of RAM. Can you guess the internal memory? It is 64 GB that can also be extended by the help of microSD card.
The Lenovo Phab 2 Pro is a dual SIM smartphone supporting 4G networks. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and NFC. Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer and Gyroscope.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro packs a 16-megapixel primary camera on the rear and an 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies.
As we mentioned earlier, it’s Google Tango that makes the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro a unique smartphone. This technology adds a wide-angle camera and special depth-sensing unit to the main 16-megapixel shooter. It’s a shrunken down and improved version of the Tango camera array that’s been available to developers in a tablet device for a couple of years, but it largely functions the same way.
Using the Tango features, the Phab 2 Pro can map out a physical space, track objects and project virtual effects in a real-world space. Lenovo is demonstrating the technology with a variety of apps including virtual reality-style shooting games; an educational app and a domino app that lets you set up Rube Goldberg-like contraptions with virtual pieces.
Lenovo says that there will be about 25 apps ranging from games to location-based apps to utilities in a special app store on the device when the phone launches this summer and it expects 100 apps to be available by the end of the year.
The reports claim that Lenovo Phab 2 Pro will have a price label of $499 (PKR 52,000) at the time of its launch.
