LG, one of South Korean big names in electronics, has announced its latest flagship device dubbed as LG G7 ThinQ with a bunch of new features, a new design and the trendy top notch like iPhone X.
LG G7 ThinQ – Features
LG has equipped the LG G7 ThinQ with bigger display on the front than its predecessor LG G6 measuring 6.1-inch with a QHD+ resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels. Whereas, LG has switched to a vertical arrangement for the dual camera setup on the rear.
Flanking it on the right is an LED flash and a laser focus module along with a fingerprint scanner just below the lens. Sadly, the scanner doesn’t double as a power button anymore.
The most striking feature of the LG G7 ThinQ seems to be the notch in the display. Yes, LG has joined the notch train. Even with the notch, the LG G7 ThinQ has a bit of bezel at the top which makes you question why there is a notch in the first place.
The power button is now on the right-hand side while the volume buttons are on the left. LG has also added a new button for launching Google Assistant. The button can’t be reprogrammed but it is a quick way to access the assistant.
The LG G7 ThinQ is a dual SIM supported device by default that runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo. As expected, LG has embedded a Snapdragon 845 processor under the hood to power up the device while a 4GB of RAM is paired with an expandable memory of 64GB to offer sufficient space for users’ data.
The LG G7 ThinQ has 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC and a Boombox Speaker feature with an extra boost of bass. There is also DTS Audio for cinema-like audio (7.1-Channel audio to be exact) but you’ll need wired earphones or a speaker to enjoy this feature.
On the camera front, LG G7 ThinQ offers a dual camera setup of 16MP lens on the rear capable to take super-wide-angle shots (107°) along with AI features similar to those in the LG V30S ThinQ. The camera setup offers scene recognition that can tell users if they are taking picture of a person, landscape, pet and more. Moreover, a Super Bright camera mode brings automatic brightness adjustment in low-light conditions.
The front of the phone brings an 8MP selfie shooter with portrait mode too. Other features of the LG G7 ThinQ includes IP68-rating, an audio jack and a 3,000mAh battery with support for wireless charging.
