Meizu is an emerging brand from China that is known for its mid-range and budget category phones. However, the latest news revealed by Meizu will make you feel great as the manufacturer will soon bring the bezelless display – though you’ll have to wait for six months or so.
Some images leaked earlier this month showcased an unidentified Meizu phone with dual rear camera setup and rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. However, the recent images show the front and rear view of Meizu m1712 indicating it as a different phone that follows the current trend of full view display.
The enigmatic full screen Meizu smartphone has rounded corners without any signs of front mounted fingerprint sensor, strengthening the feel of bezelless screen. There is a small circle on the screen that may be used as home button.
If we peep through the rear side of the smartphone, we find a camera along with a large-sized LED flash. Interestingly, there is no sign of fingerprint sensor on the rear as well. Where it could be? A recess on the right edge of the Meizu phone indicates the possible presence of fingerprint sensor over there. Not to mention that HTC is also working on the same concept of full screen smartphone featuring a fingerprint sensor on of its edges.
The information of the mysterious device that is confirmed at this moment includes its model number ‘m1712’ running on Android 7.0 Nougat OS.
Pricing and Availability
Li-Nan, Vice-President of Meizu’s Blue Charm line-up said in a recent interview that a full screen Blue Charm smartphone will be arriving next year with a price tag of around CNY 3,000 (~$450 or PKR 47,800).
Though we don’t know the exact brand name that the m1712 will carry but the idea of placing the fingerprint sensor on the edge of the smartphone made us feel good.
