Motorola has launched new series of the sixth generation of Moto G series at an event held in Brazil including Moto G6, Moto G6 Play and Moto G6 Plus. The new series comes in a revamped design as Motorola has introduced a new display called Max Vision with an 18:9 aspect ratio and ditched metal in favour of 3D glass for the rear.

Moto G6

The base model dubbed as Moto G6 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and features a 5.7-inch FHD+ display on front while both sides of the phone are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layering. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 450 processor paired with two memory combos of expandable storage to choose from 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB.

The dual camera setup is introduced on the rear comprising of a 12MP and 5MP lens to capture depth of field information. The front camera is limited to an 8MP shooter with LED flash performing equally better in low light conditions.

A fingerprint sensor is also there below the display to control the device using gestures. The Moto G6 is fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery unit that also sports TurboPower fast charging.

Moto G6 Play

The Play model of the Moto G6 comes preloaded with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with a 5.7-inch MAX Vision display having an HD+ resolution protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. In contrast to the Moto G6, the back of Moto G6 Play is covered with the polymer glass. The Play variant comes with the same expandable storage options of Moto G6 but is powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor under the hood.

On the camera front, the Moto G6 Play features a dual camera setup on the rear comprising of a 13MP primary lens and another 5MP secondary one. The selfie shooter is limited to the same 8MP in size along with an LED flash.

The G6 Play comes sported with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor whereas it packs a more powerful battery pack than the Moto G6 rated at 4,000mAh.

Moto G6 Plus

The elder sibling dubbed as Moto G6 Plus brings a larger 5.9-inch MAX Vision FHD+ panel on the front protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The rear of the smartphone is also protected with the same grade of protection layer, however the polymer glass like the Moto G6 Play.

The Moto G6 Plus is powered by a more powerful Snapdragon 630 processor under the hood with even higher storage options of 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB to choose. The storage may be expanded up to an additional 128GB by using a dedicated microSD card slot.

The Moto G6 Plus is equipped with the same dual camera that flourishes the Moto G6 that is a 12MP and 5MP combo to capture depth field and record 4K videos with its dual pixel autofocus features. Selfie camera is also the same as introduced in the other two models limited to an 8MP lens sported with an LED flash.

The Moto G6 Plus incorporates a fingerprint sensor located below the display. However, the Plus variant is equipped with a smaller battery unit than the Play model limited to 3,200mAh unit sporting TurboPower fast charging though.

Pricing and Availability

The Moto G6 series is already made available in Brazil with price tags of $246 for the Moto G6, $308 for Moto G6 Play and $370 for the Moto G6 Plus. The Moto G6 series will make its way to Mexico next week. Whereas the North America will be offered with the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play from the first week of May.
