Nokia is the name that was once known for its durable mobile phones likes of iconic Nokia 3310. The brand entered the Android arena under the umbrella of HMD Global introducing a number of mid-range to high-end devices.

However, the company has shown equal interest for entry level smartphones and the upcoming Nokia 1 is in the leaks and rumors at the moment.

Nokia 1 Image Leak

The fresh leak that has been spotted on the tech blogs relates to the alleged images of Nokia 1, showing similar design features those of Nokia 2. Like its predecessor, Nokia 1 is expected to come in a polycarbonate body having more round edges. The leaks show the vertically placed camera at the back of the phone.


On the software end, Nokia 1 is reported to run Android Oreo Go Edition under the hood which is a scaled-down version of Android 8.0 Oreo. The Go Edition has been tailored in a way to make it more user-friendly introducing improvements in performance and storage features that will optimize an app to take up less storage. Moreover, the new version of OS has its own Google Go App Suite that names the apps like Google Maps Go, YouTube Go, Files Go and so on.

Nokia 1 will feature a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 chipset and is rumoured to bring a full HD display featuring Full-Screen aspect ratio with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. While there will the minimal size of storage that is 8GB along with 1GB of RAM for processing.

In terms of camera, we expect to see an 8 MP rear camera along with 5 MP selfie shooter. However, a massive 4,100mAh battery is predicted to power the low-end device.

Expected Pricing and Availability

HMD Global is expected to unveil Nokia 1 at the upcoming annual Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 scheduled to be held in Barcelona next month. Nokia has plans to make the device affordable for everyone by keeping the price tag to the low-minimum around PKR 6,000 to 6,500.

It is also heard that Nokia 1 will be made available in Russia starting from March followed by other emerging markets like Pakistan and India.
