HMD Global has finally taken the wraps off the newest member of Nokia’s Android smartphone family – Nokia 7, coming exclusively to China in just a few days. The company has unveiled the fifth Android powered Nokia smartphone this year – the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 surfaced in February the Nokia 8 came out in August.
We don’t see the top trend of today known as bezelless with Nokia 7 but it is still a good looking and premium smartphone. Nokia 7 is splash proof, thanks to IP54 certification making it an extraordinary one. The smartphone comes with frame of 7000-series aluminium, 3D- Corning Gorilla glass construction at the front.
The Nokia 7 will be running on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box but an update to Android 8.0 Oreo has been promised by the end of this year. The software will deliver a stock-Android experience but does have some built-in apps present.
Nokia 7 is the first phone in the Nokia series to have a glass back and a back-mounted fingerprint scanner. There is a 5.2″ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080p (1920 x 1080) having Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top.
Under the hood, we see a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset. We have two storage options of 4GB and 6 GB RAM paired with 64 GB of internal storage. However you’ll have an option to expand storage by a dedicated microSD card slot.
On the camera front, Nokia 7 boasts a 16 MP shooter paired with a dual-tone LED flash at the back whereas the front camera is a 5 MP unit that has an 84-degree field-of-view. HMD Global brings the ‘Bothie’ feature with Nokia 7, first introduced with Nokia 8, making it possible to combine images of front and rear camera into a single photo.
