Smartphones, whether Android or iPhone, have become our daily life companion but it is now confirmed the most famous brand of the past – Nokia is all set to bring the legendary Nokia 3310 along with three more mobile phones in coming weeks.
Remember phones made under the Nokia brand are now sold by HMD Global, a Finnish company that bought the rights to the name. HMD will reveal other new mobiles – the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 – at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain on February 26th.
Nokia 6 was launched in China and was sold in a matter of minutes having more than a million pre-orders already before the launch so its not a surprise that this happened.
Nokia 5 will be the little sibling of the Nokia 6. According to rumors, it will have a 5.2 inch 720p screen with 2 GB of RAM and a 12 MP camera sensor. It will also cost less with a €199 (PKR 22,000) price tag in Europe. In comparison, Nokia 6 is said to cost €249 (PKR 27,500), otherwise being sold for about $250 in China.
Nokia 3 will be geared towards the low end market and will go on sale for €149 (PKR 16,500). No specifications were leaked for this phone though.
If you don’t remember, let me refresh your memory when there was a time where battery of our mobile phone could last even for days. We used to play the famous “Snake Game” for hours and hours. It was the time when Nokia 3310 ruled the world with its strength and sleekness of that time.
Those days might never come back but soon you can re-experience the past thanks to Nokia. The Finnish company is going to release a refurbished version of its legendary phone, the Nokia 3310.
The phone, originally released in 2000 and in many ways beginning the modern age of mobiles, will be sold as a way of getting lots of battery life in a nearly indestructible body.
The Nokia 3310 will come with bunch of features including a clock, calculator, the ability to store up to ten reminders and four games: Snake II, Pairs II, Space Impact, and Bantumi.
Snake was so well-loved that it’s currently available for iPhone, Android and Windows phone users to download.
The new avatar of the old Nokia 3310 will be sold for just €59 (PKR 6,500), and so likely be pitched as a reliable second phone to people who fondly remember it the first time around. It will be revealed at Mobile World Congress later this month, according to leaker Evan Blass who first revealed the details.
All of these phones, Nokia 6, 5, 3 and 3310 will be launching in Europe following the MWC showcase. The distribution plans for other regions are currently not known so we cannot say for sure when these phones will be making their way into Pakistan.
