Nokia D1C

Nokia, a popular name in mobile phone industry, has decided to come back with Android-based device – Nokia D1C. Earlier the company has abandoned their Lumia brand. In fact, a report cited in August, quoting a Nokia executive that the company would launch four Android-based devices in the last quarter of 2016.

A number of rumors are circulating on popular tech blogs regarding the name and features of the upcoming devices. In late August, two Nokia-branded Android devices – Nokia 5320 and Nokia 1490 – were spotted on GeekBench. Now, a new Nokia device, named D1C, has also made its way to the benchmark site.

The Nokia 5320 is believed to be a high-end device with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 underneath it. The other one we are interested in today – Nokia D1C, appears to be a mid-range Android-based device.

The Nokia D1C is likely to run Android 7.0 Nougat, latest version of Android OS, while having a Qualcomm octa-core processor powering the handset clocked at 1.4 GHz with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM.

Earlier Rumors

In fact it is the size of its display that is under discussion. Earlier rumors portrayed Nokia D1C as an Android-based smartphone with high resolution QHD display of 5.5 inches in size but recent reports claim something else.

Recent Updates

The recent reports reveal that the Nokia D1C would be a tablet having 13.8 inches display; not a smartphone of 5 inches or so. As the device is actually a SIM-based Android tablet having Android Nougat under the hood, it should definitely stand out from other tablets available on the market.


Furthermore, the slate is said to feature 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, but the benchmark only shows 9GB of free storage available. Nokia D1C is likely to boast a 16 MP main camera on the back, along with an 8 MP selfie shooter in the front. Both the cameras are capable to record full HD videos.

Our Words

Nokia D1C is not too far as we have already entered the last quarter of 2016 and it is considered that this quarter would certainly witness the arrival of mysterious tablet. Its gigantic display would be the difference and stand it out to the front and the SIM would be another plus point.
