OPPO has officially launched the recently unveiled flagship device OPPO Find X in its home market of China. The trendsetter smartphone that was unveiled on June 19th at an event held in Paris, France was promised to make its debut in China on June 29th.
About OPPO Find X
The Find X brings a super-large Full-HD+ OLED display that dominates the front side of the phone with amazing screen-to-body ratio of 93.8 percent while measuring 6.5-inch in size and having 19.5:9 aspect ratio. While bezels are completely gone from three sides, there’s still a small chin at the base of the screen.
The OPPO Find X runs on ColorOS 5.1 AI Smart custom UI based on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. The company says that the OS is intelligent enough to learn usage habits and preload common applications to make the app start faster. Under the hood, the Oppo Find X is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.
Unlike the Vivo NEX that has a pop-up selfie shooter, the Find X comes with a large automatic sliding mechanism. When this part of the phone slides out, it not only reveals the front camera and 3D face scanning sensors for unlocking the phone, it also reveals the dual rear cameras and LED flash. OPPO has termed it “Stealth 3D cameras”. According to the company, the slide-out mechanism pops out in just 0.5 seconds.
The front-facing camera sensor is of 25MP for taking selfies. It comes with multiple 3D portrait lighting features and Omoji, which is OPPO’s own take on the iPhone X’s emojis. For the photography, the smartphone comes equipped with a dual camera setup that consists of a 16MP + 20MP sensors on the back with OIS and AI features.
The smartphone doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner, instead, it comes with O-Face (3D face unlock) which OPPO says has a failure rate of 1/1,000,000 compared to that of a fingerprint scanner which is 1/50,000. It also features a smartphone voice assistant. The device is backed by a 3730mAh battery, which supports Oppo’s custom super-fast VOOC charging technology.
