OnePlus has announced the brand new OnePlus6T smartphone with smaller notch display, improved battery life and camera features. The device becomes the first one under OnePlus umbrella to feature an under-display fingerprint scanner whereas the Chinese manufacturer eliminates the 3.5mm audio jack.

OnePlus 6T – Features

The OnePlus 6T follows the likes of OnePlus 3T and 5T, being an upgraded version of the regular OnePlus 6with a better display and improved cameras. The smartphone is dual SIM supported handset that runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with an Oxygen OS skin on the top. Two new features of Gaming Mode and Smart Boost are meant to lock the brightness while gaming and improves app startup times respectively.

OnePlus 6T brings a 6.41-inch Full HD+ Optic AMOLED display on the front, protected with Gorilla Glass 6, having 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The device features smaller bezels all around and a tiny water-drop notch on the top. However, the back looks nearly the same as that of regular OnePlus 6 with a frosted glass panel and dual cameras on the rear.

As mentioned earlier, another standout feature of the OnePlus 6T is its under-display fingerprint scanner that uses a green light to check users’ fingerprints and claimed to be faster than others like Oppo Find X, Vivo Nex and Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

OnePlus has embedded a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC under the hood to power up the new smartphone paired with diverse storage options of 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. Be noted that you’ll have to stick one of these combos as there is no card slot to further increased the in-built storage.

Although the camera configuration of the OnePlus 6T are exactly the same as that of OnePlus 6 but the manufacturer promises better results due to a few software improvements. It features a dual 16+20 MP (16 MP effective) camera setup with OIS and PDAF. It will produce better AutoHDR images and will come with a Nightscape feature, similar to the night mode on Huawei P20 Pro and Google Pixel.

Another major improvement in the OnePlus 6T is its larger battery; the 3,700 mAh unit as compared to 3,300 mAh power pack on OnePlus 6. There is also OnePlus’ signature 20W Dash Charge that can get you from 0-55% in just 30 minutes.
