OPPO is the Chinese smartphone brand that has certainly gained a reputable position in ‘camera-centred’ products with its ventures launched under ‘F’ series. We’ve seen OPPO in bringing ‘mid-rangers’ or ‘selfie-experts’ over the years, primarily focusing on front cameras and moderate hardware. However, here comes good news for OPPO fans as the company is gearing up to unveil its true flagship device named as ‘OPPO Find X’ with top of the line hardware features.

It was back in 2014 when OPPO brought its last flagship device – OPPO Find 7. It was speculated that OPPO may launch the OPPO Find 9 or Find 11 to succeed it but the company remained firm with its camera-centred products that it seemed that the Chinese manufacturer would never launch a Find series flagship phone in future. However, OPPO made an unexpected appearance on its Weibo account that it will be launching a new Find series smartphone called Find X.

The poster shared on Weibo accompanies the ‘welcome message’ by OPPO that says “Hi, waited for a long time” suggesting that the company is well aware of the fact that its fans have been eagerly waiting to see a new flagship phone. OPPO has also changed its Weibo profile logo to Find X that confirms it will be the next major smartphone from the company. The announcement on the existence of the Find X smartphone has come just after the launch of Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition.

OPPO has also made the Find X website live that contains a video teasing the name and hinting that the official launch of the device is not too far. The video begins with “Hi” and the next slide says “It’s been a long time” and then a third slide appears that teases the Find X name. The colour of the website’s theme is dynamic, finally ending in the Red color seen on the leaked poster.

OPPO Find X – Specifications?

Although there’s not much we can say about the specifications of the upcoming OPPO Find X but the market trends and speculations suggest that a notched iPhone X-like aesthetic is highly likely, as even Xiaomi’s recent Mi 8 went with this design. Moreover, as OPPO’s recent products are usually focused on photography, it is also rumoured that the Find X might have a triple camera set up on the rear, just like the Huawei P20 Pro.

The recent image shared on Weibo also reveals that the smartphone does not feature a fingerprint scanner. Since OPPO was recently granted a patent for in-screen fingerprint scanner, it is speculated that this advanced biometric recognition feature might be made available on the OPPO Find X. Other obvious specifications are likely to be a Snapdragon 845 processor paired with at least 6GB of RAM and the trendy AI features for photography.
