OPPO, the Chinese brand known for its camera-centric smartphones, has been in the headlines for its upcoming venture OPPO R15. A number of leaks got surfaced on tech blogs including official teaser in recent months highlighting main features of the smartphone. However, an official poster released by OPPO reveals that the duo of OPPO R15 would be unveiled on March 31st.
According to poster published on Weibo, the OPPO R15 launch event will be kicked off on March 31st at 8 pm local time that will be aired on Zhejiang Satellite TV. Like earlier OPPO events, it is expected to be an eve full of music and dance as Zhang Yishan, a renowned Chinese actor will serve as brand ambassador for the new flagship devices.
OPPO R15 & OPPO R15 Dream Mirror
The Chinese manufacturer will unveil two variants of the R15 series – OPPO R15 and OPPO R15 Dream Mirror. Although both devices share a number of particulars on the specs sheet but some key differences are also there.
For instance, both the regular R15 and Dream Mirror editions will house a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with 2280 x 1080 pixels resolution having 19:9 aspect ratio and top notch. Likewise, both siblings will be running on ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box offering the same storage features that is a combo of 6GB RAM and 128GB native storage.
As far as the key differences are concerned, the regular model of OPPO R15 will be powered by MediaTek’s new Helio P60 chipset whereas the Dream Mirror edition comes will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor.
Another difference lies in the camera features; the R15 will house a dual camera setup at the rear comprising of 16MP and 5MP lens while the OPPO R15 Dream Mirror edition will come with even more powerful combination of 16MP and 20MP lens setup.
Likewise, the OPPO R15 will be fuelled by a comparatively larger battery unit of 3,450 mAh as compared with the Dream Mirror’s 3,300 mAh unit. Moreover, the former will house a 2.5D glass back while the latter to come with 3D features.
