With the successful completion of Players’ Draft for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018, the first phase is over. All the six franchises have completed their 20-men squads to fight for the title of HBL PSL 3. Lahore were the only exception as they managed to pick 19 players due to no budget left for the 20th man whereas Karachi Kings will announced their last player on completion of their Talent Hunt Program in coming days.

Not to mention that there were more than 500 players available for participating franchises to choose from; with 308 overseas prominent cricketers. Each participating unit made their team with 9 retained players and 7 selected in the draft event; one each from Platinum, Diamond, Gold categories and two each from Siler and Emerging ones. Whereas four picked up in Supplementary rounds would become an augmented force for the side, if requirted.

The PSL is being taken as the right step towards revival of cricket in Pakistan. Players and experts are optimistic about the positive come out of the event.
