Samsung is the trendsetter in the smartphone market that stuns everybody with at least one unique feature every year. We have seen Galaxy S8 and S8+ this year carrying one of the most beautiful displays ever embedded in a smartphone. Samsung called it ‘Infinity Display’ and put the same on Galaxy Note 8 as well. Even the OLED panel of iPhone X is made by Samsung!
Recent reports suggest that Infinity Display will continue to come in action even in the year 2018 as the upcoming Galaxy A5 2018 edition will also come with an Infinity Display like Galaxy S8 and Note 8.
Galaxy A5 2018
The Galaxy A5 2018 leaked so many times already and appeared on some listings claiming it to be the first non-flagship device that comes with Infinity Display. We’ll see an 18:9 aspect ratio display with 412 x 816 resolution.
Remember displays of S8 and Note 8 have the same aspect ratio but with a lot more resolution. Well, that’s one of the things that differentiate a flagship and a non-flagship phone.
According to specs sheet leaked so far, the A5 2018 will be running on Android Nougat 7.1 out of the box and will be updated to Android Oreo soon after its launch.
Moreover, we will see a mid-range chipset Exynos 7885 under the hood having an octa-core chip with two Cortex-A73 cores and six Cortex-A53 cores.
Some reports claim that the smartphone may appear with multiple storage options including 4GB and 6GB of RAM. However, the exact internal storage size is not known so far bur we anticipate to see 64GB paired with card slot.
Putting the Infinity Display in Galaxy A5 does not mean that the fingerprint sensor will be at the same spot on the back. It is expected that fingerprint sensor will be in the middle of the back just below the camera sensor.
Keeping the trend of A series in mind, we expect to see Galaxy A5 2018 to get on surface in January 2018, like its predecessors in previous years.
