Samsung had missed the train to unveil its upcoming beast – Galaxy S9 duo at the CES 2018, as it was rumoured earlier. However, the company seems to be proactive and has released an advert for its Press Event in Barcelona on February 25th, just before the start of next tech show – MWC 2018 (Feb 26 – Mar 1). The “Unpacked” event shares the same time and weekday as Samsung’s past phone unveilings at MWC, the Sunday night before the show officially kicks off.
The official invitation card published by Samsung carries a slogan “The Camera Reimagined”. The phrase is all about camera and says it all what the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will bring for us. The digit ‘9’ encircles this iconic phrase and that’s the only thing known so far. If the leaks surfaced so far are truthful, it is expected to see a single camera lens in Galaxy S9 while the bigger variant – the S9+ will bring a dual-camera sensor.
Galaxy S9 – Expected Features
The overflown rumors suggest that major improvements to the camera specs will be the prime highlight of the Galaxy S9 duo. For instance, variable aperture is the new feature that will allow users to switch the 12MP rear camera between f/1.5 and f/2.4 according to the need. Moreover, the camera will also be able to shoot super slo-mo videos at 480fps at a 1080p FHD resolution.
Although, the bigger variant – Galaxy S9+ will also be unveiled in the same event but the event invite doesn’t hint anything about it. Meanwhile, other solid leaks about both of Galaxy S9 variants include a fingerprint scanner on the back, Iris scanner, Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 chipsets, 4K OLED display, and built-in 512GB memory chip.
The upcoming Barcelona event will also announce the opening date for Galaxy S9 duo’s pre-orders. So if you follow the track record of Samsung, those who’ll place orders on February 26th will receive their package by March 16th.
As we are one month away from the official launching event of the Galaxy S9 and S9+, we expect more leaks in coming days.
