Sindh Police has taken another step towards digitization of police department by launching an Android app named Police 4U. The new app that was inaugurated by the Karachi Police chief, AIGP Dr. Ameer Sheikh last week is meant for helping citizens of Karachi in reporting crimes in a better and secure way.

Dr. Amir Shaikh said:

“This app will help in reducing the trust gap between the people of the metropolitan city and the police. With the help of this app, people won’t have to visit the police station. With your phone, you can register a complaint against any crime, be it a snatching, theft, robbery or anything else.”

He termed the Police 4U App as a New Year gift for the people of Karachi, adding that an option for the security of various countries’ consulates has also been provided in the app.

The main goal for this initiative is said to be the provision of a competent and efficient platform for Karachiites where they can easily update about any emergency to the concerned officials through an easy-to-use communication channel.

The Police 4U app provides a digital platform to the people of Karachi where they can lodge their complaints and even access to other police related facilities including character certificate applications and tenant registrations.

About Police 4U App

sThe app has different segments for different complaints, for example, the victim of a mobile snatching incident can lodge the complaint by going into the ‘Mobile snatching’ segment in the app, where they will be asked to enter their phone number, area where the incident took place, description of the mobile, IMEI number, date and time of when the incident occurred.

Similarly, there are dedicated segments for Bike Snatching, Car Snatching, Burglary and Cash Snatching. Users have to go to their corresponding segment and lodge a complaint that may be tracked in real time afterwards.

The app is currently available to download and install on Android devices from Google Play store.
