As per latest DXO Mark rating, Apple’s latest iPhone 8 lies at the 10th place as it is the highest-performing ‘single-camera’ smartphone. It has an impressive score of 92 which is more than the previous top scorers of DXO Mark, the HTC U11 and the Google Pixel.
9. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 – Overall Score 94
Samsung’s first dual-camera smartphone – Galaxy Note 8 occupies the 9th place in DXO Mark ranking with the growing number of dual camera smartphones. The Note 8 features a duo of 12MP lens where the main camera is a wide-angle 26mm f/1.7 lens and the other one is a 52mm telephoto f/2.4 lens for x2 optical zoom shots.
8. Apple iPhone 8 Plus – Overall Score 94
Another flagship device by Apple that is the iPhone 8 Plus is place at the 8th place of DXO Mark ranking with its remarkable dual camera setup. The smartphone features two camera sensors of 12MP lens each, including a wide-angle primary camera and another telephoto sensor that has a slower lens for zooming in on any kind of subjects.
7. Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S – Overall Score 97
The recently launched Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S by the leading Chinese manufacturer manages to score whooping 97 marks on DXO Mark and thus occupying the 7th place along with Huawei Mate 10 Pro and iPhone X. The smartphone features a dual 12MP camera setup at an affordable price and competing with the big bosses of the town.
6. Huawei Mate 10 Pro – Overall Score 97
Although, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro has an overall score equal to the Mi MIX 2s but it is placed at the 6th place in DXO Mark ranking with its duo of beautiful cameras for photography enthusiasts. The dual-camera setup is developed in cooperation with Leica that combines a 12MP RGB with a 20MP monochrome sensor.
5. Apple iPhone X – Overall Score 97
Apple’s 10th anniversary model dubbed as iPhone X occupies the 5th place on the DXO Mark listing even though gathering the same 97 points as the Mi MIX 2S and Mate 10 Pro do. The smartphone features a 12MP camera, including a wide-angle f/1.8 lens with optical image stabilization (OIS) for the primary camera. The second camera has an improved telephoto lens that features a wider-aperture f/2.4 lens.
4. Google Pixel 2 – Overall Score 98
The Pixel 2 by Google managed to stay at top of the list for quite a long time but it has now slipped to the 4th place. The Pixel 2 has a distinction with others as it is the only one that comes with single camera of 12.2MP and even then manages to beat many of the dual cam holders.
3. Samsung Galaxy S9+ – Overall Score 99
The Galaxy S9+ is the latest flagship device launched by the South Korean tech giant Samsung that manages to be at number 3 on DXO Mark ranking. The smartphone features a dual camera setup that comes with a 12MP main camera with a 1/2.55″ sensor and f/1.5 / f/2.4 variable aperture lens and another 12MP secondary camera with 1/3.6″ sensor, 2x tele and f/2.4 aperture lens.
2. Huawei P20 – Overall Score 102
Huawei P20 is Huawei’s second flagship smartphone of 2018 that manages to occupy second place on DXO Mark listing despite the fact that the device does not feature triple camera setup like its elder sibling P20 Pro. The P20 has a dual camera setup consisting of a 12MP 1/2.3″ RGB sensor as the primary lens supported by a 20Mp 1/2.78″ monochrome sensor to capture extra-fine portraits.

Here comes the king of the list – the Huawei P20 Pro having the best smartphone camera in the world. Huawei P20 Pro is the first smartphone on the planet equipped with triple camera setup. The camera configuration comprises of a 40MP RGB sensor, a 20MP monochrome sensor and an 8MP sensor with a telephoto lens.
