Vivo is a Chinese brand that has beaten big guns like Apple and Samsung in bringing the first ever in-display fingerprint sensor in its latest device Vivo X20 Plus UD in collaboration with Synaptics.

It seems that Vivo plans to surprise the smartphone fans in future as well. An interesting photo gets surface on Weibo, claiming it to be an upcoming Vivo device offering a very high screen-to-body ratio along with in-display fingerprint scanner.

Although there is no information available on the specifications and naming of the mysterious Vivo phone but the design features are quite amazing. The exact size of the device is not known but it is likely to bring 18:9 aspect ratio as the screen seems to be an elongated one.

There is a slightly thick bottom bezel but the remaining ones are quite thin indicating an almost 95% screen-to-body ratio. If it comes true, Vivo will again beat the big names by introducing such a huge visual area of a display.

No Front Shooter?

Since the top bezel appears to be very thin, it will not be possible to house the selfie shooter, earpiece or any other sensor over there. Will Vivo copy the Mi Mix 2 in placing selfie camera on the bottom bezel? No, because there are no signs of camera sensor on bottom bezels of the mysterious Vivo phone. Will the smartphone lose such a demanding feature? We think ‘No’ because the selfie camera has become an integral part of a smartphone.

It does not seem feasible for Vivo to cut the front camera when others are coming with cameras like DSLR. What will be the case then? In our opinion, there will be a single rear camera that may be flipped to become the front shooter. If you remember, the Huawei Shot X released in 2016 did not feature a front-facing camera. Instead the flip-up functionality of the rear camera allowed its users to use it as a selfie camera.

With this, it is evident that the Chinese manufacturer is keen enough to find and introduce new trends in the smartphone market. If they are trying to minimize the bezels, they are likely to come up with flip camera and foldable display in future.
