Vivo has unveiled another variant of its previously launched device, Vivo V9; making it more powerful by adding more RAM and newer chipset. The new version comes with 6GB of RAM (adding another 2GB to the original version) and replacing the old Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 626 with Snapdragon 660.

Vivo, the Chinese tech giant, has been innovating in a number of fields in the last few years. They were among the first companies to launch an in-display fingerprint sensor (Vivo X20 Plus UD) and a truly bezel-less phone (Vivo NEX). Additionally, their upcoming Face ID technology is said to carry 300,000 3D data points, which is 10 times better as Apple’s Face ID.

Vivo V9 6GB – Features

The Vivo V9 6GB brings the same vibrant FullView Display measuring 6.3-inch in size with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a resolution of 1080×2280 pixels. The device offers the same 90% of screen-to-body ratio along with a top notch and narrow bezels all around. The new V9 measures 154.81 x 75.03 x 7.89 mm in overall dimensions and weighs about 150 grams.

The newer version of Vivo V9 is powered by the recently launched Snapdragon 660 chipset with octa-core setup where each core is clocked at 2.2 GHz along with the Adreno 512 GPU. On the software front, the smartphone comes preloaded by Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box paired with Funtouch 4.0; a Vivo’s custom skin of Android.

The photography department of Vivo V9 6GB is dominated by a dual camera setup on the rear comprising of 13MP and 2MP that is supposed to capture good-quality images in all types of light conditions. The front side of the phone is equipped with even more powerful 24MP lens to capture lively selfies and make video calls.

Vivo has introduced dual options of security; that is the conventional fingerprint sensor on the back and Artificial Intelligence based Face Unlock on the front. It also features an updated Game Mode that allows you to set which contacts to receive calls from during gameplay.

Vivo V9 6GB – Pricing and Availability

The Vivo V9 6 GB has been offered for pre-orders in Indonesia from June 28th to July 5th with retail price of IDR 4,299,000 (~$300, PKR 36,500). However, Color options are limited to Black and Red.

While no news on global launch of V9 6GB has been revealed till yet, the new model is expected to be launched in other Asian markets including Pakistan and India in coming weeks.
