Vivo has gradually become a familiar name in Asian markets including Pakistan and India due to its affordable yet innovative products. Vivo V9 that was seen on a billboard in early March has now become official in India with Bollywood star Aamir Khan being the brand ambassador.
The new mid-range device is considered to be as the successor to Vivo V7 that was launched last year in full-screen design. However, its design resembles with Vivo X21 that copies top notch from iPhone X.
Vivo V9 – Features
Vivo has introduced a massive IPS LCD Full-View 2.0 display for Vivo V9 that measures 6.3-inch in size having 19:9 aspect ratio and 2280 x 1080 pixels resolution. Vivo claims that the device attains 90% of screen-to-body ratio with 1.75 mm slim bezels. The display has a uni-body 3D design with glossy finish and protected by 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass.
Vivo V9 is a dual SIM supported device by default that runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box flavoured by FunTounch OS 4.0. the smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 625 chipset that clocks at 2.2 GHz speed. The SoC is coupled with 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage. However, a microSD card slot is also there to accommodate 256GB of external storage to fulfil your data needs.
As we know, Vivo is a camera-centric brand that offers unique camera features in affordable price range. So is true for Vivo V9 as the device is equipped with dual camera setup at the rear comprising of a 16MP + 5MP combo of sensors. Users may shoot beautiful bokeh shots while the Shot Refocus feature allow them to focus on the already captured images. Moreover, the Ultra HDR mode captures three images at the same time superimposed by each other to snap with better lighting in foreground and background.
Vivo V9 brings a 24MP selfie shooter at the front with f/2.0 aperture. The lens is fortified with AI Face Beauty feature that makes it possible to shoot optimized selfie shots by enhancing the lighting and key features of the face such as skin tone, age, gender, texture and much more. The AI Face Beauty feature hides many other modes like Natural Light, Studio Light and Monochrome whereas AR stickers are also there to further nourish the selfie shots.
Although a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor is there to safeguard the device from any kind of misuse but the front-facing camera can also used to unlock the device through Face Access 2.0. The unique feature not only recognizes the user but also opens security locked apps like gallery, messages, social media and so on.
The handset receives power from a 3,260mAh battery unit that unfortunately lacks fast charging capabilities. Other features of the Vivo V9 include 3G, 4G VoLTE, 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, 2 microUSB 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack and USB OTG.
Vivo V9 – Pricing and Availability
Vivo India has already started taking pre-orders for Vivo V9 from March 23rd exclusively on Amazon India with first shipment is scheduled to be kicked off from April 2nd onwards. The handset is available to choose from clors like Black, Champagne Gold and Sapphire Blue with price tag of INR 22,900 (~$352, PKR 40,700). Remember the early leak of six-digit pricing?
