Vivo, a Chinese brand known for innovative products, has launched a successor to the Vivo X21 that was launched in March this year. The new entrant is named Vivo X21i and brings a new chipset under the hood controlling the processes. Now Vivo customers can enjoy great features of MediaTek Helio P60 chipset instead of the Snapdragon 660 SoC.
Vivo X21i – Features
The Vivo X21i features the same specs that are available on the X21 smartphone; that is a 6.28-inch Super AMOLED notched display that offers an aspect ratio of 19:9. The screen is placed under 2.5D glass while the company claims to attain 90.3 percent of screen-to-body ratio. The device measures 154.37 x 74.98 x 6.99mm in overall dimensions while it weighs 159 grams.
As mentioned earlier, the Vivo X21i is powered up by a The MediaTek Helio P60 (MT6771) chipset under the hood that comes with an inbuilt APU for handling AI tasks. Vivo has introduced two variants of the new device as far as the storage capacity is concerned; 6GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB. However, a dedicated microSD card slot is also there to expand the storage capacity as per users’ needs.
On the camera front, the Vivo X21i features a dual 12MP camera setup on the rear that is equipped with several AI features like scene detection and beauty mode. While shooting against the light, the smartphone will begin the AI backlit camera feature to capture brighter images.
On the front, we have a 24MP selfie shooter that can shoot optimized selfie shots through the AI beauty mode feature by recognizing gender, skin quality and environment. The front camera is also equipped with features like AR stickers and Face Wake facial recognition.
The Vivo X21i is preloaded with Android 8.1 OS that is overlaid with FunTouch OS 4.0 UI along with Vivo’s Jovi AI assistant. Not to mention that its predecessor Vivo X21 is among few other getting Android P Beta updates. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3,425mAh battery unit. Vivo has also incorporated a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for extra layer of security.
Vivo X21i – Pricing and Availability
The Vivo X21i can be availed in its hometown China at the moment with colors like Ruby Red, Aurora White and Polar Night Black. The base variant with 64GB native storage is priced at CNY 2,698 (~$423, PKR 49,000) while the higher model with 128GB internal storage is offered with the same price tag. The official sale of X21i will be kicked off today (May 19th) at 10:00 am local time in China.
