Vivo is all set to launch next-generation of X-series smartphone dubbed as Vivo X23. Ahead of the phone’s official launch that is scheduled on August 30th, several design and internal features have been surfaced through official video and promotional images shared by the company.

The Vivo X23 is expected to succeed the Vivo X21 that was made official earlier this year and so, is positioned as a premium mid-ranger. The device is expected to be different from its predecessor in many aspects, including the screen which has been spotted with a valley-style notch and with a screen ratio of up to 91.2 percent.

Under-Display Fingerprint Sensor

Not to mention that China-based Vivo is the first company to introduce a smartphone with in-display fingerprint sensor and the upcoming Vivo X23 is also confirmed to come with a biometric sensor that’s placed under the display.

The latest information reveals that Vivo X23 will be equipped with the fourth-generation of under-display fingerprint sensor. This new generation fingerprint sensor is said to bring better accuracy for fingerprint recognition and faster device unlocking speed.

Vivo X23 – Official Video

The video ad of Vivo X23 do nothing more than confirming the design of the phone. It shows the phone in Phantom Violet with a color gradient finish and dual rear cameras. Unfortunately, it only shows the back of the phone.

Storage Combo

Vivo has been sending out a couple of teasers for the upcoming X23 smartphone revealing that that the smartphone will be equipped with a storage combo of 128GB native storage and 8GB RAM that is just enough to meet the needs of users including heavy gamers.


Vivo has released new official renders of the X23 that shows off the two colors the phone will come in. Vivo has named the color gradient appearance 3D Phantom Aurora. The phone can take on different colors depending on the angle light hits it.

Other Features

In other aspects, the Vivo X23 is rumored to pack a 6.4-inch Full HD+AMOLED screen with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It’ll be the first phone from Vivo to come with a waterdrop display and will offer 91.2 percent screen-to-body ratio.

The handset will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 670 processor 670. In addition, the X23 is also expected to carry support for 3D facial scanning through TOF 3D depth camera technology. The handset is also expected to support 22.5W fast charging through USB-C.

In terms of photography, the phone will come with dual rear cameras and an LED flash. The front-facing camera will also come with Face Unlock support, having 3D facial scanning through TOF 3D depth camera technology.


The phone will come with gradient colors, which Vivo has named 3D Phantom Aurora. The phone can take on different colors depending on the angle light hits it. It’ll be available in three colors options — Phantom Red, Magic Night Blue, and Phantom Violet.

While the company has not yet officially launched the smartphone, it is scheduled to go on sale in China at 10:00 AM on 30th August.
