Vivo, one of the popular emerging brands from China, has quietly announced a mid-range device – Vivo Y95 in the Philippines. The new device is said to be a successor to the Vivo Y83 offering a number of advanced features in affordable price range.
Vivo Y95 – Features
The Vivo Y95 is a dual SIM supported handset that runs FunTouch OS 4.5 UI based Android 8.1 Oreo OS out of the box and brings a notched 6.22-inch IPS LCD screen on the front that offers HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels.
The handset was earlier reported to feature a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset but the Philippines version gets powered by a Snapdragon 439 SoC under the hood like Vivo Y93.
The storage options of the newly launched handset include the single combo of 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. However, a dedicated microSD card slot is there for those who are not contented to further expand the storage.
The photography department of the Vivo Y95 is dominated by a dual camera setup on the rear comprising of 13MP primary sensor and 2MP secondary one; the same as we’ve seen for the Y93.
However, a real improvement is offered for the selfie shooter that is surprisingly increased from an 8MP shooter on Y93 to 20MP lens for the Vivo Y95 and that too equipped with AI capabilities, face beauty and face unlock features.
Pricing and Availability
As mentioned earlier, the Vivo Y95 has been made available for the Philippines market in two gradient color choices of Starry Night Black and Aurora Red, priced at PHP 13,999 (~$262, PKR 35,000).
There is no official confirmation of the Vivo Y95 heading to other markets as of now but we expect to see its arrival in Pakistan very soon. Stay tuned.
UPDATE: Vivo Y95 becomes official in Pakistan with price tag of PKR 34,999 only.
