Xiaomi is a Chinese brand that is well known for its high-tech smartphones in comparatively lower prices. The manufacturer has just unveiled a duo of Redmi series smartphones – Redmi 5 & Redmi 5 Plus. Both the smartphones follow the present trend of full-screen display having 18:9 aspect ratio.
Common Design Features
Both the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus have the same familiar design features that are associated with the Redmi series. The new pair features full metallic body in four colours; Gold, Rose Gold, Blue and Black.
As both the new entrants incorporate the full screen design features, therefore no capacitive touch buttons are available at the front. Instead, the on-screen buttons are used to navigate the phones.
However, enhanced security feature of fingerprint sensor is located at the back panel of both the phones. Xiaomi justifies little bezels around the display as a deliberate measure to ensure that the high screen to body ratio doesn’t translate into a fragile display.
