As the MWC 2018 is getting nearby, rumors are flying all around making it hard to predict what is actually going to happen. For instance, we reported earlier that Xiaomi is likely to unveil Mi 7 at the MWC but the latest reports claim otherwise.
Although, Xiaomi is confirmed to be part of the event but there will be neither Mi 7 nor any other big announcement. This is what a high-ranking Xiaomi employee, staying anonymous, has declared that no major announcements will be made at MWC 2018 by the Chinese manufacturer.
Meanwhile, a leakster had claimed that Xiaomi may bring Mi Mix 2S instead of Mi 7. However, it is expected to see official announcement before the MWC 2018; less than a month from now.
There are also reports that Xiaomi may unveil its new proprietary chipset Xiaomi Surge S2 at the upcoming tech show. The SoC is likely to power the upcoming affordable variant of the flagship Mi 6 – the Mi 6c.
It is quite clear from the diverse reports that Xiaomi has a lot in its basket that could be unveiled just before the event. However, it is also anticipated that none of the major players including LG, HTC, Xiaomi and Huawei bother to come face to face with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 that is arriving on February 25.
As far as the specs sheet of Xiaomi Mi 7 is concerned, it is said to be packed with a Snapdragon 845 chipset along with 8GB of RAM. There will be alluring 5.65-inch display with FullHD+ resolution for regular variant and larger 6.01-inch OLED panel for the Plus version. Other rumors claim that the Mi 7 could also bring the facial recognition and Qi wireless charging features.
We are waiting for Xiaomi to officially announce the future of Mi7; do you?
