It seems that the “Bezel Less” would become the feature to rate a smartphone in coming days. We have seen many players actively working on their forthcoming products having the same feature enabling to view the maximum. Sharp Aquos S2 is the recent example along with Galaxy S8 Infinity Display.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is in the rumours to astound you having no bezels at all. As the company is all set to release their next flagship Mi Note and Mi Mix smartphones. The latest leaks, however, make the Mi Mix 2 blowing away all ‘bezel less’ flagship smartphones released this year.
Xiaomi is well-known for its budget friendly flagship devices and we saw Xiaomi Mi Mix last year having nearly bezel less concept phone. The phone was well received and Xiaomi promised a follow-up with even smaller bezels and more screen real-estate.
Overall, the Mi Mix 2 seems to have a thinner profile than Mi Mix, in addition to having curved and rounded corners. Here’s what the phone will look like if the new leaks are to be believed.
No Front Facing Camera
Xiaomi has cut the bottom bezel by half making the phone almost all screen. Side and top bezels are almost non-existent. We don’t see top front camera as there is virtually no space on the front to mount the selfie shooter. The leaks from China suggest that the Mi Mix 2 will use metallic body instead of ceramic one used last year in Mi Mix.
The same concept of bone conduction hardware used in Mi Mix has been in place for Mi Mix 2 minimising the need of earpiece on the top. Xiaomi is going to go for the same piezo-electric earpiece embedded near the top of the phone. The Chinese smartphone maker is collaborating with AAC technologies for developing the earpiece, the latter has plenty of experience with haptics and tiny speakers.
Xiaomi Mi mix 2 may bring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor under the hood along with a huge 6 GB of RAM. Although the screen size is a mystry at the moment but it is confirm that we’ll have an AMOLED screen with Mi Mix 2. The smartphone may be equipped with a 19 MP camera and a 4,500 mAh battery backup.
The Mi Mix 2 is expected to be released in mid-September this year with an expected price tag of for CNY 4,999 (~PKR. 79,000) for the top end model considering last year’s pricing.
