Xiaomi, the Chinese manufacturers, have unveiled an extra ordinary high-end Android smartphone with everything you’d imagine; from curved screen to huge camera, it is Xiaomi Mi Note 2 – the successor to Mi Note surfaced last year.
We must say it a complete flagship phablet with a screen that is curved on both edges, much like the now-discontinued Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Moreover, the global model comes with all the 37 LTE bands available so far.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has a 5.7-inch dual curved QHD display with a flexible OLED panel having resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels at the front. The back is also curved the same way as the screen looking quite similar to Samsung’s ex-Galaxy Note 7. The device is surrounded by a metal chassis that comes in Piano Black and Glacier Silver.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, the latest at the moment. The fablet comes with 2 different variants; 4GB RAM version with 64GB of internal storage and 6GB RAM version comes with 128GB of built-in storage. The later uses the high speed UFS 2.0 storage. It does not have a microSD card slot though.
The smartphone rund Android 6.0 Marshmallow under the hood along with Xiaomi’s own EMUI 8.0. the following video tells you more about EMUI 8.0.
There is a huge camera at the rear – a 22.56 MP Sony IMX 318 sensor. Xiaomi has incorporated the image stabilization functions in still and video mode. A 3 axis dedicated gyroscope does the job while recording video by using Electronic Image Stabilization to add to the stability.
The front camera uses an 8 MP Sony IMX268 Exmor RS sensor. The front camera also features autofocus, not common even amongst flagship phones, and a group selfie mode which merges several pictures together to make sure everybody has their eyes open in the selfie.
A 4070 mAh battery powers the phone. It also comes with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 which will allow you to charge the massive battery in little time. The charging port uses a USB-type C slot as well.
Although Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be made available across China within a week but there are no words about its global exposure as yet. Keep visiting us as we will update you as and when the story breaks.
