Xiaomi, one of the most popular smartphone brand from China, is extensively increasing its business across the globe. The brand has opened the first Mi Store in London a couple of days ago. In the meantime, Mi India has claimed to clinch a Guinness World Record for simultaneously opening 500 Mi Stores in India.
500 Mi Stores in India
Not to mention that the Chinese tech giant already has a countrywide presence with a number of Mi Stores in India including the largest one at Bangalore. But this time around, Xiaomi manages to kick start new 500 Mi Stores – all at once.
The new brick and mortar stores are located in various cities in India and the record-setting grand opening took place on October 29th but the claim has to be cleared by the GWR before formal announcement of the achievement.
However, Mi India claims that opening of new 500 Mi Stores doesn’t actually meant to claim the Guinness World Record but it is the part of Xiaomi’s plans to expand rapidly in India. Xiaomi called the plan a “New Retail” model for India where it aims to provide “flagship store experience” to customers in rural areas.
The Chinese brand may smash its own record if it attains its goal for 2019 to open 5,000 new brick-and-mortar stores and to employ over 15,000 people across the country.
