Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant, came up with media invites last week for the global launch event of its ‘undisclosed’ device(s) scheduled to be held on July 24th in Madrid, Spain. Some reports reveal that the Mi A2 would be the main attraction of the event.

A little confirmation has also surfaced through company’s official twitter handle that hints two Android One devices to become official at Spain launch event by saying: We are giving you ALL not 1 but 2 smartphones on July 24th! Any guesses?

Although, Xiaomi has not revealed the brand names once again but it is presumed that we’re going to see Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite on july 24th.

Mi A2

As per the previous leaks, Mi A2 will be the elder sibling of Mi A2 Lite with more powerful features. The smartphone is expected to bring a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display of 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution.

The Mi A2 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor, accompanied by multiple storage options including 4GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB and 6GB/128GB. The photography department consists of a dual camera setup on the rear comprising of 12MP+20MP combination. Another 20MP snapper will also be there located on the front.

The Mi A2 lacks the 3.5mm headphone jack and will be fuelled by a 3,010mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support.
Being a part of Android One program, both devices will be running on stock Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box.

Mi A2 Lite

Interestingly, the Mi A2 Lite has already been listed on AliExpress ahead of its official launch event with price tags of $200 (~PKR 25,500) for 3GB RAM variant and $230 (~PKR 29,400) for the 4GB RAM model.

The Mi A2 Lite having 5.84-inch display on the front brings a metallic design chassis along with a notch above the display to convey a more premium look. Whereas, the display itself has a Full HD+ (1080 x 2280) resolution in a 19:9 configuration, which is better than 720p found in most phones of this range.

The internals of the smartphones are dominated by a Snapdragon 625 SoC that is not the latest but still gets the job done. The Mi A2 Lite offers two storage options; 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. However, customers have an option to expand the native storage by using a microSD card.

The camera department consists of a dual camera setup on the rear comprising of 12MP f/2.2 and 5MP telephoto lens accompanied by an LED flash. Another 5MP lens on the front comes with AI-assisted modes, too.

The Mi A2 Lite is equipped with a fingerprint sensor on the rear and a powerful battery source of 4,000 mAh to keep lights on for long. The smartphone comes in three color options of Black, Blue and Gold.
